For whiteleg shirmp farming: Stocking schedule from February to September, 2021 (Farming areas less affected by floods and storms in Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan provinces can stock until December, 2021).
For the Southeast provinces and cities like as Ba Ria Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City
Black tiger shrimp farming schedule (intensive, semi-intensive, extensive farming): Start stocking from February to July 2021. In case of farming for black tiger shrimp combined with crab, fish; wild shrimp, the stocking schedule seed starts from December 2020 to August 2021.
For whiteleg shirmp farming: Stocking schedule is from February to August 2021. Some facilities have good infrastructure to ensure they can stock up until October 2021.
For the coastal provinces of the Mekong River Delta
Stocking schedule for black tiger shrimp (intensive farming, semi-intensive farming): Start stocking from December 2020 to September 2021. For the form of farming for tiger shrimp combined with crab, fish; forest shrimp farming stocking all year round. However, farmers need to interrupt crops to improve ponds and lagoons to kill pathogens at least once a year.
In case of rice-shrimp rotational farming: Stocking schedule is from January to May 2021.

Initiative steps need to be taken to avoid the intrusion of drought and salt water
According to the National Centre for Hydro - Meteorological Forecasting, the risk of saline intrusion in the dry season of 2020-2021 will continue to appear early and fierce in the Mekong Delta, possibly equivalent to 2015- 2016, maybe even the dry season of 2019-2020, affecting brackish shrimp farming in 2021. Therefore, based on the seasonal calendar framework and the actual situation in each locality to build a seeding season calendar for specific brackish water shrimp, suitable for each ecological region in the area. At the same time, the organizations need to actively develop plans, allocate resources and organize the implementation of environmental warnings and observations and measures to prevent and combat drought and saltwater intrusion.
In order to successfully implement the planned objectives, the Directorate of Fisheries requests the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of provinces to direct specialized units to coordinate with localities in order to disseminate seasonal calendars, organize guide techniques, well manage the stocking, adjust seasonal schedules in time when required to suit production reality.
Tasks of good control of the quality of seed and input materials used in aquaculture have to implement. It is recommended that farming facilities associate with reputable seed associations or hatcheries to have quality breeders for production.
It is recommended that the breeder use the large seed through nursing; apply effective farming models such as 2 or 3-phase farming model, biotechnology application model, circulation, less water change, etc. At the same time, the chemical-restricted brackish water shrimp farming process need to continue implementing.
For the key provinces of shrimp seed production such as Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, it is necessary to strengthen inspection of the conditions of seed production and trading establishments from the beginning of the crop, check the use of broodstock according to regulations to ensure the quality of seed.
